ASSESS YOUR RISK OF CHRONIC VENOUS DISEASE.

Welcome to the Spanish Chapter of Phlebology and Lymphology

Dear colleagues,

The Phlebology Chapter was created in 1992 to respond to the concerns of colleagues who carried out their professional activity exclusively in the phlebology field or making it compatible with arterial pathology and to accommodate professionals who, although they did not have the specialty of Angiology and Vascular Surgery, were interested in this pathology. At present, those needs to specify specific scientific activity in meetings, symposiums and congresses to promote progress in the treatment of the most prevalent diseases in our specialty of Angiology and Vascular Surgery are still in force.

I am very proud to have been chosen by you as president of the Phlebology and Lymphology Chapter (CEFyL). This confidence in turn generates great responsibility, but I am lucky to be accompanied by a team of great professionals who are willing to work so as not to disappoint you and whom I have to thank for their involvement in this exciting project. The intention of this Board of Directors is to encourage you to actively participate in the working groups, which are the great engine of the chapter and where any member with initiative can contribute to the advancement in the diagnosis and treatment of this pathology so prevalent in our society.

One of the fundamental pillars that this board of directors will develop will be training. Under the umbrella of the “Academia de la Vena” various modalities of open courses will be carried out in which all professionals involved in the different phases of the healthcare pyramid can enroll. The best training will create better professionals and a higher quality of care, which will undoubtedly have an impact on the care we provide to our patients.

Thanks for your trust.

Javier Álvarez
President of the Spanish Chapter of Phlebology and Lymphology of the SEACV.
